Siam Villa Suvarnabhumi is proud of its cultural heritage. It is largely reflected throughout the spacious compound. Each part of the property proudly represents its roots. A story built through time and reflected from the moment you set foot in the beautiful villa.
Leaving the busy road of Bangkok, you step into an oasis of gardens and reservoirs that is unique to our property. Most hotels open their doors into much grandeur and luxury while we chose to open our doors to history.
The gardens you will encounter is largely insipired by the first Thai Kingdom of Sukhothai, the genisis of Thai agriculture. Sukhothai is an ancient Buddhist City founded in the mid-13th century. The city is filled with impressive and monumental temples, palaces, and waterways. One of the marvels it is well known of is its hydraulic engineering, reservoirs, canals and dams. This became vital in controlling draught and ensuring agricultural prosperity.
Sukhothai in Sanskrit means "Dawn of Happiness". It has indeed became the beginning of the Thailand Kingdom. In 1238 CE, King Sri Inthrathit (Pho Khun Bang Klao Ho) united the small cities into one kingdom. Later on, King Ram Khamhaeng expanded the kingdom northeast into what is now known as Laos and into the Malay Peninsula, now Myanmar.
For 200 years, the city flourished and had became a center of trade and agriculture in the region. It has marked the beginning of what is now known as Thailand.
Our gardens take you to the time of the agricultural and cultural genisis of our heritage. The beautiful farms, gardens, and reservoirs. As with all civilizations, they all began with the agricultural roots and trade that flourished.
